About Me
Brian Langston is a poet, writer and author of Troy’s Story: As Told From A Third Floor Balcony. An accomplished retail professional, Brian has spent the last 20 years participating in, hosting and judging poetry slams all over NYC. His latest work is the follow-up to Troy’s Story, Handsomely Flawed: Mirrors Aren’t Always Made of Glass.
As early as Junior High School, Brian wrote a winning essay that landed him as one of the finalists in NYC’s Police Commissioner for a day contest. It was then that he realized he had a penchant for writing. Brian was also tapped to be the Keynote speaker at Aspirations Diploma Plus High School for their annual career day event to speak about the journey of becoming a self-published author.
Over the years, Brian worked on his writing by journaling and creating poems based on his mood and his surroundings. While assisting his mother with the care of his late father, Brian would stay up late nights writing short stories and poems. He would share them randomly with friends who all loved the stories and suggested writing a book to share those stories with the world.
This Brooklyn born wordsmith can usually be found with a pen and a pad near a body of water or with camera in-hand somewhere in the mean streets of SoHo. When not absorbed by the compelling content on social media, Brian is taking inventory on his days by jotting down notes in his phone. With a small library of his own, he always had writing his own book one day on his bucket list — which has since been checked off. Brian now resides in the East New York area of Brooklyn, New York.
